The logo for UNIV 2009 is a tree, the traditional symbolic representation of the University.
Why a tree?
Iconographic tradition has often associated the image of the tree with intellectual activity, and specifically, with knowledge. Like a tree, the university sinks its roots on the fertile soil of truth, through which it lives and thrives.
From a common trunk spread forth a multitude of branches growing upward, symbolizing progress in the various fields and sciences, and in the various cultures, persons and languages which all converge in the University.
